Different modalities used in radiology are classified those which are based on usage of X-rays and hence pose a radiation risk & those which do not use x-rays and are hence harmless

Radiography Principles

1) Always take two perpendicular view of interested area. 2) Patient should be as near to cassette as possible to reduce the magnification. 3) X-ray beam should be perpendicular to object as maximum energy beam is in the center. 4) Proximal or distal joints should be included in at least one view in case of appendicular system.
