Ageing is an inevitable phenomenon. Ageing not just affects the individual but it affects everyone in the society in one way or other. India Ageing Report – 2017 highlights that the share of the population over the age of 60 is projected to increase from 8 % in 2015to 19 % in 2050. The elderly population is expected to increase from 10.5 % to 22.4 % during 2012–2050 (Asia). These demographic trends suggest that the health care sector should be prepared to tackle geriatric health disorders. With advancing age, there is a gradual decrease in the functioning of different physiological systems. Frailty is one health issue that is commonly associated with the geriatric population and a declining physiological capacity. With the growing population worldwide, there is an increase in the diagnosis of older individuals as being frail.
