Physio Times is our initiative to bring forth an interactive contribution from the doyens of Physiotherapy. Our august panel of advisors have agreed with our vision and we are privileged to be associated with them.

Editor-in-chief:
Dr. Bhumika Nayak, BPT, MIAP
Having done her graduation from S.S.G. Hospital, M S University, Baroda, Dr. Bhumika Nayak brings with her a rich clinical experience of about 10 years in physiotherapy. She envisaged the need to create a platform in the field of physiotherapy for exchange of ideas that can lead to a knowledge revolution. It was then that PHYSIOTIMES was born in July 2009, to bridge the information gap that existed in the field. She is a clinician with interest in orthopedic and pediatric physiotherapy.

Mr. Mukesh Nayak, B.E. (I.C.), MBA (Marketing)
Many of us are afraid to follow our passion & pursue what we want the most, because it means taking risks & even facing failure. But to peruse your passion with all your heart and soul is success in itself. Mr. Mukesh Nayak, the director of PHYSIOTIMES, is one such enterprising individual, who treaded a path less travelled. Saying goodbye to his plush corporate job and starting off a new venture was not easy, but as they say, where there is a will, there is a way. An avid reader himself, he translated Dr. Bhumika's vision to create a platform for knowledge exchange in physiotherapy in the form of PHYSIOTIMES, and is the marketing brain behind its success.
An engineering graduate with an MBA in marketing, Mukesh Nayak has more than twelve years of corporate marketing and pharmaceutical brand management experience. He also writes a regular column "Marketing Mantra" in the magazine to share the management and marketing principles he has learned over the years and how they can be replicated in physiotherapy for professional development. He regularly conducts seminars on topics like marketing management and the need for developing Lateral thinking in physiotherapy using Edward De Bono's concept of Six thinking Hats.

Chief Mentor:
Dr. M. G. Mokashi, B.Sc, DPT; FIAP; Ph.D, Professor Emeritus, Physiotherapy.
We are privileged to have the veteran and legendary Physiotherapist, Prof. M.G. Mokashi as our chief mentor whose constant guidance is of immense value to us. His joins us to serve the common objective of providing information on various useful avenues to PT population in India. Prof. Mokashi has worked as chief, physiotherapy and PG teacher at the All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AIIPMR) , Mumbai from 1961-1994 till voluntary retirement. He has extended his services to private sector as well. He has served as Principal, LMCP, Mangalore, Professor Director J N medical College Belgaum, Director Research and Faculty Development at Garden City College of Physiotherapy, Bangalore and is presently a Guide for PhD at Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapith, Pimpri, Pune. A fellow of the IAP, Prof. Mokashi has served as the General Secretary in 1965 and was elected as IAP President thrice i.e in 1968-69, 1978-80 and 1994-1996. He has represented IAP as Delegate in WCPT twice i.e. in 1974 in Montreal and 1995 in Washington.

Executive Editor:
Senthil P Kumar, MPT, MIAP, PhD candidate
Senthil P Kumar is the associate professor in Musculoskeletal and Manual Therapy & a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Physical therapy, Kasturba Medical College (Manipal University) Mangalore. Senthil P Kumar has been regularly contributing articles of good quality, peer-reviewing others' articles and been a regular source of ongoing discussion towards improving the 'look and feel' of PHYSIOTIMES. His editorial experience is worth mentioning. He is presently serving as Chief editor, Journal of Physical Therapy, Associate editor, International Journal of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Editorial board member for International Journal of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Journal of Sports Medicine and Doping Sciences , Journal of Clinical Medicine and Research, and Journal of Physical Education and Sports Management . He has attended more than 100 continuing professional development programmes and has presented papers in 13 conferences including Sri Lanka, Canada, Thailand and Netherlands. He is a member of various international professional associations and he has published 32 papers in peer-reviewed journals- both national and international. His research interests include pain sciences, manual therapy, professional development and diabetes mellitus.

Executive Editor:
Sagar Naik, MS (Motor Control & Learning), PT
Sagar Naik earned his bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from the Sarvajanik College of Physiotherapy, Surat, Gujarat following which he completed research training in Motor Control & Learning at The University of Florida, receiving a Master of Science degree. He is the Founder of StEP Initiative towards Development of Physiotherapy, India. Through StEP, he envisions establishing standards in Physiotherapy education, practice and awareness in India. Currently, he is involved in the developmental phase of the project along with StEP Initiative co-Founders and volunteers to address various challenges identified in the field of Physiotherapy, which will help us to move towards the development of Physiotherapy as a profession in India. In addition, Sagar Naik has served as Deputy Editor of PHYSIOTIMES for the last 2 years.

International Editor:
Srikesavan Sabapathy, MPT (Musculoskeletal)
Srikesavan Sabapathy trained as a physiotherapist in India specializing in muculoskeletal physiotherapy. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Medical Rehabilitation at the University of Manitoba in Canada and hopes to continue into a PhD program. He obtained his experience at the Krupanidhi College of Physiotherapy in Bangalore and then Shree Ghantakaran Mahavir Physiotherapy College and Rehabilitation Research Center at Godhra. The nature of his experience has been clinical, academic, administration and research. His current research interests revolve around physical function in men with prostate cancer and older adults, healthy aging and the effects of exercise on cancers.
He has also worked with the cervical radiculopathy population and has conducted research on the effects of manual therapy and nerve mobilization on them. He was a trainee at the ICMR-NIH long term bioethics training program in 2008 and has since then developed keen interest in professional and clinical ethics and continues to research and write on the same. In his spare time he likes to travel and spend time mentoring and encouraging young physiotherapists and students to pursue research. He is also a life long Liverpool fan! He has expressed his delight in becoming associated with PHYSIOTIMES and hopes to collaborate with those involved and also learn from the experience.

International Editor:
Devdeep Ahuja, MSc, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Devdeep Ahuja is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, with MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, United Kingdom and a Bachelor's in Physiotherapy from D.A.V. Institute of Physiotherapy, Jalandhar, India.He currently works as Rehabilitation Response Lead at Broadspire Rehabilitation Ltd. Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. In addition to clinical practice, Devdeep has avid interest in research, writing and social networking. Devdeep is also on the editorial team of International Journal of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (www.ijptr.com) and Journal of Physical Therapy (www.jpt.scopemed.org). He is the founding editor of Physioguru (www.physioguru.com), which is a one stop resource for physiotherapists around the world. It aims to provide the physiotherapists with updated news and professional information to help guide their clinical practice and professional development.

Suketu Shah, , B.P.T., M.S., C.M.T., M.I.A.P., New York, USA.
Suketu Shah earned his bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from the Srinivas College of Physiotherapy, Mangalore, Karnataka following which he completed his masters of exercise science and rehabilitation at City University of New York, Brooklyn College, New York, USA, receiving a Master of Science degree. He is currently working as Registered Physical Therapist in New York. He has been involved in PHYSIOTIMES ever since its inception and has played a pivotal role.

Gayatri P Jadav, MPT ( Neuro )
She works as the Senior physiotherapist at the Bharuch welfare Hospital and Research Centre.

Shruti S., MPT (Neuro)
Shruti works as a Physiotherapist at 23Physio Clinic, Coimbatore. She completed her Graduation and Post graduation at Mother Theresa PG&Research Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry. She was awarded the "Pondicherry University Prize" for BPT, and the "Best Outgoing Student Award" for BPT for the year 2008. She has worked with Individuals with Stroke, and has done research on Proprioception and Balance in them. In addition to Physiotherapy, Shruti is interested in poetry writing - both Tamizh and English. She has a few poems to her credit, and also writes at Indus Woman Writing
Currently, Shruti is involved in several health education and research projects through the R&D of 23Physio Clinic, mainly focusing on the prevention and management of Low Back Pain in the society.

Senior Graphic Designer:
Himanshu Niranjani, B.A, Diploma in Fine Arts
Himanshu has a creative bent of mind. He is primarily responsible for creating attractive design and layouts of PHYSIOTIMES magazine. He keeps a balance between the art and science by creative expression of the contents, making the magazine aesthetically appealing, yet making sure that the contents are not diluted.

Marketing Executive:
Nikunj Patel, MBA (Marketing)
Nikunj Patel efficiently handles all administrative work which includes timely dispatch of the magazine to all subscribers. He can be contacted for any query with regard to new subscription, advertisements or non-receipt of the magazine. He also maintains an accurate database and is instrumental in sending all communications to the subscribers for renewal of their subscription.

Administrative Staff:
Maulik Panchal, Diploma in Multimedia & Graphic Design
Maulik acts as the junior designer and support staff for all administrative functions with regard to the magazine.
